Works great! More features than AirVideo
Since it seems development has stalled on AirVideo, I started looking for an alternative.
I had minor glitch on the windows server install. It worked on one machine and not another. Easy fix, just update to the latest iTunes, or (re)install bonjour.
It does play music, it does show picture, and it played every type of video I threw at it.
I removed one star as its a bit more resource hungry on the server side than AirVideo. Very high bitrate videos that worked on AirVideo were too much for Serve2me on my old P4 desktop machine. No difficulty on newer CPUs.
One other item is that I dont think its possible to manually set bit rates for "local" LANs vs "remote" LANs. If Im using it a friends that has a lan with 3G Internet access, it thinks its connecting at wifi N speeds when its really at 3G speeds. It would be nice to be able to set its quality/bit rate high for a "bonjour" connection and low for a wan connection (and preferable a 3rd setting for direct 3G)
Other than these two items, it works very well, the video and sound quality are excellent, decent user interface, and reasonably priced.
